ParticipantCommonsense rules of courtship
Traditionally men were the wooers, women the wooed. That’s no longer the case, but old habits die hard and many men and women still prefer traditional roles in courtship. But whoever issues the first invitation should take the responsibility for thinking of ways of spending the first “date”. It might be a drink in a country pub, it might be a walk, but the initiator should suggest something even if this changes during discussion. There’s nothing worse than being invited to do?
Whoever extends the invitation must also give some idea of what to expect, so that the guest knows what to wear (an over-dressed partner is a great turn off), whether to eat first and what the time scale will be.
